The problem
American football is hard to follow if nobody ever taught you. I know, because I was that person. Downs, flags, the red zone, why they keep stopping. None of it made sense.
Most explainers assume you already know the basics. I wanted one for people as confused as I was.
So when Base44 ran its Big Game App competition in 2026, my dad and I built it together. The homepage says it all: FINALLY. SOMEONE EXPLAINED IT.

The approach
We gave ourselves three rules and stuck to them.
Visual first. Show the pitch before explaining it. If you can tap it, you'll remember it.
Plain English. Every bit of jargon gets translated. If a term needs another term to explain it, that one gets explained too.
One sitting. You should get from "huh?" to "oh, I get it" in one go. No twelve-part course, no rabbit holes.

What I built
It's built on Base44 as four tools, each teaching the game a different way.

Game Situations
You're the coach. The clock's running and it's your call. You learn the game by making the decisions.
The Glossary
An A to Z of American football jargon, translated into words normal people use.
The two of us figured it out together, one screen at a time.

How it went
It won Best Build at Base44's Big Game App competition in 2026.
The award's great. Building it with my dad was better.
