JSON-LD

Structured data in a script tag that tells search engines and AI tools, in schema.org's vocabulary, exactly what a page is about.

Also called structured data.

Search engines are decent at guessing what a page is about. JSON-LD means they don't have to guess. You add a script tag with plain facts in schema.org's vocabulary:

That's a trimmed-down copy of what's on this page. Every entry in this glossary is a DefinedTerm inside one DefinedTermSet, which is a fancy way of saying "these are definitions, and they belong together".

The rule: only describe what's visible on the page. Then check it with Google's Rich Results Test before you trust it.
